Apparently, LJ is up to eight million users now. I remember feeling mightily impressed when it hit one million, lo those many years ago. O_O God, I'm old.

I have a To Do list a mile long, as usual. On it are things like "Go see doctor, also eye doctor person," under the heading of "Things To Do So Mum Will Stop Nagging Me"1, and also things about writing (... *whistle*), cleaning, sorting through all the stuff my parents brought over (anyone want some stationary/writing paper? please?) and other flat-related stuff, and mostly "Buy bookcases and finally sort out my shitload of books."

I actually have found a program that'll let me keep track of my books, including who I lend them out to, which has in the past proven to be a bit of a problem, but I think I'll wait to actually use it until I have my internet back at home. That will hopefully be as soon as possible, possibly even before I get my bookcases, as I can't seem to remember to measure how much space I have for them, and how much shelfspace I need, so I can't order them yet. *facepalm*

1 Mum is worried about the bumpy things on my head, and about my twilight blindness in one eye. I roll my eyes at this, because the bumpy things are just pockets of fat, and the twilight blindness, while annoying (especially when LARPing, which often goes on into the twilight and beyond, because I have no depth perception for half an hour or so), has been the same for twelve years, so, honestly. Feh.

What happens after the half hour of no depth perception? Do your eyes adjust? I can't see diddly in the dark. :p My sister threatened to cut up my driver's license a while back, when we were out driving at night, after I'd told her to inform me when the road turned because I couldn't see too good. *g*

Yeah, there's like half an hour of twilight where my left eye gets this weird blind blotch ll over most of that half of my vision. (There's a narrow rim around the edge where I can see, oddly enough.) Hence lack of depth perception. Once it gets dark enough, it goes away, and oddly enough I actually have quite decent night vision.

I suspect the eye thing has something to do with an eye infection I had at twelve, because the blotch didn't start showing up until just after that.

It sounds really weird. Good thing it goes away eventually so you don't have to go around with the blind blotch all night. I can imagine it's disturbing while it lasts though.

It probably does. Especially if it started after the infection.

It is kinda disturbing, mostly because I rarely get it (because of the wonder of electric light, heh), so I tend to forget I get it until I find myself leading a party of adventurers across a muddy grass field and suddenly realise that oops, no depth perception.

Can I add 'enable [livejournal.com profile] ashenmote to send you money' to your to-do-list?

And that's a weird kind of twilight blindness there as twilight blindnesses go.

D'oh! Um, right. Remind me what info you need, again?

It is, but it's mostly just vaguely annoying, rather than actually himdering my attempts to be popular on the internet life.

Would think I need the bank connection stuff, as in bank name, code and account number to ashenmote at aolddotcom? If that's okay?

All in all it sounds rather like the sight issues some people get when migraine is about to hit them, but you don't get that regularly when it gets dark and such.

As of today my previously mute computer has sound! That's very, very strange. It makes fake click-noises when I click the mouse and it talks useless AOL stuff and the games have music and all that 0_0

Right, will send that right away.

Yeah, my migraine-related sight issues usually don't hit until the pain is paralising, and that's more blurry than dark. Hm.

I remember when only a few fandom people had LJ's, and the lists were the heart of every fandom. Now? Pretty dead, those lists. And everyone and their aunt has an LJ.

And hey, we were there to witness the shift! Yay!

Oh, god ... *reminisces* You know, as much as I like LJ (for one thing, I can ignore annoying people and pretend they don't exist!), I do miss some aspects of lists. Also, the centralised archives. Sigh.
