Man, this job just keeps on getting more and more surreal. First there were the people reading "Gratis / Appel Gratuite" on the packages, didn't realise that just means "free (call) in Dutch and French, and called to ask for their free apple. Then there is the woman who keeps leaving messages on the voice mail with things like "The coast is clear, the police is gone, check out street name)", etc. At first, we figured it was a hoax, but no. Grown woman. Utterly serious. About thirty messages in the past two or three weeks. And not only does she have to have heard the whole shpiel on our hold tape, but she's actually had one of my coworkers pick up the phone on her, so WTF. Personally, I suspect she's just mentally unstable, but who knows.
And now the entire goddamn floor is humming Do They Know It's Christmas?. I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.
NaNo meeting at seven, which will be me, empress_nothing, and one other person. Then again, that'll be one more person than last week, heh. I think I'll just not go home first and go sit at a coffee shop and try to write.
My journal is called you loved them wooden ships go by, because it's the first of two lines I found while going through my late uncle's notebooks,a nd for some reason, I really loved it.
The subtitle is you wished me no farewell, because it's the second of those two lines.
strong>My friends page is called you watched them wooden ships go by, because I'm unoriginal. :D My comments/leave a comment links are following the theme, as well ("x wooden ships"/"wish me no farewell").
My username is bubosquared, because bubosquared = bubo^2 = bubo bubo = Latin name of the Eurasian Eagle Own, which = "my" owl.
My default userpic is:
because it's the most recent picture I have of myself in which I don't look a) stoned, b) half-asleep, or c) both, and in which I'm not obviously emoting. Cause that's what my other icons are for, heh.
Feh, another forty minutes.

Sometime this weekend/start of next week, I need to get my digital camera back, so I can take geeky pictures of my new iBook when it arrives. :o)
Maybe you could meet up with E this weekend - she's going to be out in the World doing shopping (while I hide in labs doing work).
