Well, maybe I'm dense, but I could not see that in that comment. And yeah, sure, it's her perogative to change her settings, and it's my perogative to see that as cowardly, and to say it out loud.

Admittedly, Cari's good with sarcasm, it's part of why we get along so well. Me? Sarcastic? Nah! But, as she pointed out, she wasn't being in that particular journal. She apologized for it being taken wrong, and you still bitched. She, very maturely, decided to take herself out of a fight that she wasn't up for.

If she's stressed about RL drama, that's not my fucking problem. She wrote something that hit me wrong. I reacted. Things like this happen IRL, there is no reason why they shouldn't happen online. If anyone can't take that, they're free to leave the general net and not be in contact with anyone but their friends for a while.

But this is my journal and if I want to use it to 'hound' someone, that is my fucking RIGHT!

You're quite correct. It is within your rights to act like a rude, insensitive boor. It's also within your rights to do the same in RL, but that doesn't make it something you should do.

*snort* No, it wasn't about your swearing. I swear like a sailor normally. I was refraining, because it seemed rude to do so on someone elses LJ. I was referring instead to the "it's my right!" defense, which is a variation on the old playground "It's a free world" one.
