Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] seamail:

"Basically, I went through my iTunes and set it on random. These are quotes from the first fifty songs that came up, though I randomized them further by not having any repeat artists. Guess the songs where the quotes are from by any means necessary (google, murder, etc *g*), and the person who gets the most right wins..."

Obviously I don't have iTunes, but this is a random selection of my song collection.

iTunes is paying, though, and I've no credit card. :(

You are, however, entirely correct in your guesses.

41. Delilah - Tom Jones

And I know I know "here's to the future to the dreams of youth". *ponders*

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Aha! I Want It All by Queen. OK, I googled it, but it was driving me nuts. And it's one of my favourite Queen songs. Can't believe I didn't recognise it.

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

:D And 42 is Opus's Live is Life... The moment I stopped trying to guess, it popped into my head. *g* Will stop spamming your inbox now. None of the others have this 'oh my God, I know this one' vibe. Well, none that haven't already be mentioned, anyway.

What's iTunes, by the way? Are these songs you have on your computer or something?

Also, fun meme. :-) I love trying to guess songs... I used to watch 'De Notenclub' all the time. ...yeah, yeah, you can stop laughing now. ;-)

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

I'd be a hypocrite if I laughed at you. I want more people to do this meme so I can guess!

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Well, let's see how you do here, if you're still up for it. *g* Also, will you post the solutions some time? I'm curious to see where they're all from!

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

I'll post the solution near the end of the week, yeah. And I'll go check yours out now!

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Aww, well, I just heard it on the radio one day, thought "OMG, what a gorgeous song" and hit the 'rec' button. I wasn't sure if it was U2 or Sting singing it (somehow, I always mix up Sting and Bono... don't ask me why), except that I saw someone mentioning one of the other songs was from U2, and there's that rule about no two songs from the same artist. :-)

From: [identity profile] jamaisneutral.livejournal.com

I love this meme so I'm just going round people's LJs to try and find as many as I can *g* I'm sad that way :-)

1. Take that - never forget (sob, oh memories!)
3. Rage against the machine - Killing in the name of
6. U2 - with or without you
13. Sting- the russians
42. opus - life is life
17. Tiffany - I think we're alone now
48. REM - the end of the world

From: [identity profile] jamaisneutral.livejournal.com

you still have the cd...

you're a braver woman than I was.

(I have a stephen gately CD... bought it in Manchester for 7 quid, so I think I can be let off the hook for that one)

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

I actually technically didn't get the CD until a year or two ago. Because during Take That Mania, I was too busy being a little Beatles snob.

(But seriously, have you seen some of the pictures of TT? WHIPPED CREAM for crying out loud!)

From: [identity profile] jamaisneutral.livejournal.com

yes, they were not at all aimed at the gay market.

Not at all.
Those shows in Heaven? That was just... erm, a coincidence!
Same for the hugging (all that bloody hugging! :) not that I minded...)

Also, weren't they managed by Tom Watkins? Or was that East 17? He has the tendency to try and make his acts even queerer than they already are. He wanted the Pet Shop Boys (the guys in my icon) to wear ripped jeans and white t-shirts.
It might have been the 80s but still... as if they weren't gay enough on their own, honestly...

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Yeah, I keep wanting to print some of those pictures and send to *NSync with a little note to "Learn, guys."

Don't really know all that much about Take That, to be honest, apart from the slashiness.

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

I love this meme so I'm just going round people's LJs to try and find as many as I can *g* I'm sad that way

Do warn me if you find any more, because this one leads to a closed journal... I kinda like being sad in a good way. *g*

From: [identity profile] jamaisneutral.livejournal.com

[livejournal.com profile] littlemooseposted one, though she the version with only 20 songs, but more lines :)
and I did the 20-songs one as well.

Which you know cos you answered it.

*bangs head*

From: [identity profile] jamaisneutral.livejournal.com

hmz... you didn't answer it, did you.I'm thinking of Rainy_Days...

I need sleep.
*bangs head some more*

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Hee, thanks for the tip! Though she'd just posted the answers, so I didn't answer her post. I knew I knew five of them, but I only managed to recognise two. Heh. To my credit, I simply had never heard of the fifteen others. :-)

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

I didn't, I didn't! I tried, figured I knew the answer to two of them, and that there were three others I thought I knew, but wasn't sure what they were. And I was right, I did know them. :-) Just felt a bit stupid to try and guess in the comments when the answers were right there. :D

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Oy. I still don't see it. *scratches head* Are you sure we were talking about the same song? o_O

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Eee! Yes. *hangs head in shame* It would have bitten me in the arse, and I still wouldn't have seen it. Heh. :-)
