My journal is called "Dispatches from Randomville", for reasons lost in the mists of time. I got my LJ in late 2000, and I had an onsite blog type thing with the same title since about September 2000, I think. I came up with it on a whim, decided it had a nice ring to it, and now it's three and a half years later and I'm still using it. Go figure.

My subtitle is "The insane ravings of a lunatic mind" because, again, it had a ring to it, and it warns people about the not-quite-sane part of my LJ.

My friends page is called "Dispatches into Randomville," to keep with the theme.

My username used to be femgeek because I first gor this LJ a few months after I first got femgeeks, and since then, femgeek's been my second choice of username (the first one being "minerva", but that's rarely available).

When I changed my username (mostly so I could purge my friends-of list of journals that'd been inactive for several years in some cases), I picked bubosquared, because bubosquared = bubo² = bubo bubo = Latin name for the Eurasian Eage Owl, which is "my" owl, and which also explains the owl mood icons.

Thanks. :) And yeah, it's a great solution, I think. I mean, I feel sorry for the straight couples who can't get married now even though many of them probably don't oppose same-sex marriages, but at the same time, the bigots are now getting a taste of their own medicine. Bwah!

Maybe if we can just abolish marriage altogether in general. Or have everyone in the US to move to Belgium and Holland, and Canada too, was it?

Seriously, I don't really see the problem, though I suppose it's...alright for a temporal solution.

I like the idea of giving the bigots a taste of their own medicine, though I do feel sorry for the straight couples who may well be pro gay marriage but just wanted to get married. But it's going to be temporary, anyway, so not too big a deal, I think.
