Hey [livejournal.com profile] rane_ab, here's that drabble you were looking for.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] sileas, I've decided we should have a big SW-fest and show [livejournal.com profile] rane_ab The Phantom Menace. *nods* I'm even prepared to watch Attack of the Clones, too. And I'll provide snacks! Name your date, ladies. :)

Oh, that's unkind! There's no good reason to expose innocent people to AotC. It just lowers the amount of Ewan love worldwide. To say nothing for poor Mr. Christensen.

I suspect [livejournal.com profile] sileas hsa already seen it, actually. I've not, but sometimes one must make sacrifices!

Yes!!!!

Somewhere in the week-end (cheaper trains)? Next sunday (january 18)?

I've seen every Star Wars movie. *big wide smothering grin*
I own both the video's and dvd's of the prequels and the three video's of the original upgraded trilogy. And I still have three tapes from when I was about 6 when Star Wars was broadcasted on Dutch television in which Chewbacca gets called 'Pruimtabak'. The translations are terrible.

Should I bring chocolate, extra movies, books, porn, candy or anything else?

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

I'll be making chocolate cake and possibly also brownies/cookies/whatever, and some "hartige" snacks, so no need for snacks. Porn is always welcome, of course. :) I don't have a DVD player hooked up to my TV, so if you can bring the tapes, that'd be great.

(Also: "Pruimtabak"! Bwahahah! I remember that! They still had that translation a year or six, seven ago, when I last saw the movies on TV.)

Sunday sounds good. What time? If you're planning on staying lateish, I can make us all dinner, even. :)

From: [identity profile] sileas.livejournal.com

I'll bring the porn then. :-) And the movies. Which one should I bring? (Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Lotr)?

They still used that old translation? Damn, but that was a bad translation... I didn't notice it when I was a kid (I saw them for the first time before I could read), but I did notice it when I watched those old videotapes.

Around the same time like last time? Or maybe an hour earlier?
We'll have to ask rane_ab because her parents might get suspicious if we hold up her up for very long.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Hm, now you're tempting. I dunno, I like them all, although I'm in the mood for something purely fun and action-filled, so my preference goes to IJ or SW.

I'm currently watching Kanaaltwee and trying to figure out if they're not still using that translation. (They're phonetically writing down R2D2 and C3PO's names!)

Hm, sure thing. ^_^ Suspicious? How so? (If it makes any difference, if any parents would feel better if they'd talked to me themselves, they can call me and hear for themselves I'm not a creepy middle aged man. :)

From: [identity profile] sileas.livejournal.com

*nods* Maybe we can watch TPM and one of the Indiana Jones movies. Maybe we shouldn't start with the monkey brains-one to spare rane_ab...

*laughs* Threepio and Artoo? *shudder*

*hehehe* I think I convinced my parents you two were real women. ;-)
But rane_ab didn't tell her parents she was going out with two unknowns from the Internet (she was supposedly out with a real life friend, if I'm not mistaken).

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Those translations sound awful. :: facepalms :: I don't have any preference for Star Wars or Indiana Jones, since I saw neither, so I'll leave the choice up to you ladies. :-) And if you think monkey-brains would scare me off, you're much mistaken. ;-) I can take anything with chocolate cake. :: grin ::

But rane_ab didn't tell her parents she was going out with two unknowns from the Internet (she was supposedly out with a real life friend, if I'm not mistaken).

Exactly. Will definitely have to come up with a better excuse. I'm not supposed to do any leisurely internet-surfing, see, so... *ahem* There's no way I could have actually met you. I might get away with saying it's someone from Brussels, though... The problem with Sunday, however, is that I have to get up at 4:15 on Monday, so I definitely have to be back by ten (take the train around seven, I think... I'll have to check). And I have to babysit coming Saturday night, so let's not make it too early, either, please. *g* Twelve or one o'clock is probably OK. :-)

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

We could change the date, if you'd prefer, and if Sileas can make it. I'm not bothered either way.

From: [identity profile] sileas.livejournal.com

Mhuahaha! I practically grew up on Indiana Jones and Star Wars. They were my favorite movies, aside from 'Back to the Future'.
Monkey brains it'll be. And rats and snakes and ... You'll see. ;-)

Exactly. Will definitely have to come up with a better excuse. I'm not supposed to do any leisurely internet-surfing, see, so... *ahem*

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And here you are. ;-) I definitely like your style.

The problem with Sunday, however, is that I have to get up at 4:15 on Monday,

*wince* Nobody should be forced to get up that early.

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Hey, you bring the tapes, I'll provide the venue and the snacks. I'm up for anything. ^_^

From: [identity profile] sileas.livejournal.com

*heheeeeeeeeeeeeee* It's a deal.

Rane thought we might gather next week's sunday (January 25th) because she needs to work all week-end and you need to work next week's saturday?

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Family, actually, not work, and I'd prefer week after next Sunday, if possible? I know that's putting it off a lot, but. :/

From: [identity profile] sileas.livejournal.com

Next sunday, is that this sunday or the week after this week ends or the next sunday after next week's sunday? *boggled*
18 january (this sunday)
25 january (next sunday)
1 february (next after next sunday)

:)

I'd prefer 'next sunday' or 'next after next sunday' myself, since I've got to hand in my webproject next week.

Ahahahaha. Loved how you only showed at the very end that the relationship between those two was indeed sexual. It's almost a shame that you have to put up a warning instead of letting us be completely surprised. You'd almost made me forget that with the first half of the drabble, though.

I'll grab the occasion to mention that I also read Curtains (from the inside out). I liked that one also. You do obviously like to analyse character's motivations! That's what I liked so much: Ron was perfectly IC. Just like him to not ask Hermione to marry him until he could give her the very best, and not to see the threat in Malfoy. He hates Malfoy, so he just expects everybody to. My favourite moment is perhaps when he claims that Harry always tries to see the best in people, which IMHO, isn't entirely true -- but that's exactly why I like it so much, because Ron would think that of Harry; he'd think the best of Harry, and because Harry is more tolerant than Ron, Ron thinks he is exceedingly so. And the fact that he did stick with Harry when they were finally paired off -- that he chose to stay with his best friend, is so very like Ron, too. I like it when a story teaches me some more about a character, in a way that feels true to canon. And you certainly have here! Nice analysis.

Dude, you have no idea how happy you just made me. I sweated so much over that remix (have you read the original?) and I'll have more intelligent things to say once I've had some sleep and my neck no longer feels like it's sprained (too much headbanging), which'll be some time tomorrow.

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

have you read the original

No, because I couldn't find the original. I may be blind, though; I'll have to check again, later. *scratches head*

From: [identity profile] rane-ab.livejournal.com

Ah, OK, that'll be why I couldn't find it on your site. :-) Though you probably put a link in the header or something -- I usually don't pay much attention to the headers since they generally just comprise the disclaimer and warnings. I'll have to read it later, since I'm at work right now. :-)

From: [identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com

Heee! Mission accomplished!

And thank you for the praise re: Curtains, although I'm going to quibble with you over one minor point, namely: Harry. I think Harry does want to see the good in people a lot of the time--unless they do something the first time he meets them that puts him off, in which case he'll likely hate them forever (see: Snape, Sirius before Harry got some sense knocked into him, etc.)

But you were dead on with this:

[Ron] hates Malfoy, so he just expects everybody to.

Exactly. ^_^
