LotR Marathon Notes, Part One

Right, nots. Dedicated to riikkarocks. Part one: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Got great seats, in the middle of the theatre, on the row in front of the wide aisle, so I had plenty room to stretch my legs. Except then this guy sat down next to me, and I swear, he was the embodiment of all the negative fanboy stereotypes, from the shitload of snacks (which wouldn't have bothered me if he'd have eaten them quitely and if I'd not been hungry) to the body odour that made me nauseous. Ew!

This bloke did some intro stuff before the movie, telling us we had to leave the theatre between movies and to take our stuff to avoid theft. Random bloke in audience: "How about we all promise we'll not steal, then everyone can leave their things!" Then intro-bloke gave away some promo stuff, and then, the movie started.

Warrior!Elrond = HOT! Actually, after seeing FotR and TTT, I came to the conclusion that warrior!elves are incredibly hot in general.

Want Hobbit children. Seriously, those kids were so insufferably cute. How can you not want one?

It's Bill and Ted! Ahahaha! Um, yes, this is in reference to Merry and Pippin. "Pippin, my friend?" "Yes, Merry, my friend?" "This has been a most excellent adventure." I can just hear them say that.

Still have Nazgûl lust. Mmmm.

Then the next three notes are Samwise the Brave, aw!, OMG SAM and I [heart] Sam, and I cannot for the life of me remember what this was in reference to, specifically, but it's a sentiment that runs rampant throughout my notes, so there you have it. (No, wait, I think this was re: Weathertop.)

I really loved how the trees of Isengard groaned as they were pulled down. Details like that are why I love Peter Jackson.

Oh look, it's Lord Eyebrow. Ehehehe. Dear self: A little more respect for the Lord of Rivendel, please?

Hugo Weaving/Sir Ian? Which IIRC was in re: the "Men are weak" scene, and someone needs to write that pairing.

Several notes on the Council scene, the first one noting how Boromir sounds like such a weary old soldier when he says the "One does not simply walk into Mordor" line. Poor man. Also, something about peacekeeper!Legolas trying to hold the other Elves back during the big argument, a random FIGWIT!, and then, Elrond: WTF is up with all these Hobbits? I love Hugo Weaving's facial expressions.

And then in the mines: Sam: **pets mithril** Because he does! He just reaches out and pets the pretty! (And then there's a declaration of my renewed love for all the manhandling going on on the Bridge of Khazad-Dhum.)

Into Lothlorien ... It's Haldir and his band of Merry Men! (Haldir (sings): "We're men in tights ...") I have nothing to add to this, except perhaps my random note that SeanB/Cate Blanchett would be hot, yes it would, preciousss.

About half a dozen people insisted on leaving during the death scene. This did not please me. But people applauded when the closing credits came on, which was one of the many good things about watching these moies with a bunch of other LotR geeks. People applaude! They laugh out loud! They make amusing comments! Wheee!

Eeeeeeeeeee! OMG, thank you so much for both these posts! I'm for some reason even sicker than yesterday (which I didn't think would be possible), and I can't sleep, and I can't do pretty much anything, and I was miserable, but now I'm not, so yes. <333333!

And I really think I need to watch the DVDs of FOTR and TTT before I go see ROTK, because holy fuck. All these great things that I'd (almost) forgotten!
