So after work, I dropped by Waterstone's to see if The Writer's Complete Fantasy Reference, which I'd ordered, wsa in. It was, so yay, but I made the mistake of browsing around a little before picking up the book, paying, and leaving, and I saw that not only is the new book in the Dark Tower series out, but so is Jimmy the Hand.
Amazingly, I managed to walk out of the bookstore without buying either, a feat only accomplished by immense self-control and the kowledge that St Nick's is in threeweeks and I can ask for at least one of the books then. Except now my inner instant gratification slut and my inner money-saver are warring inside my head. "Wait for the paperbacks! Besides, you have the rest of both series in paperback, so the hardcover will not only be expensive, but also outof place!" "DARK TOWER! JIMMY THE HAND! WE WANTSSSS IT, PRECIOUSSS, YESSSSSS ..."
Sometimes, I hate living in my head.
Although, in better news, I also noticed a new store opened near Waterstone's. A store which sells swords. Functional swords! And some of them are relatively cheap! And cool! And if I still get money from my godfather, I'll be able to buy one! Also, gauntlets! And knives!
