Edit: I should probably point out that this is completely and utterly AU, one in which Marcus and Draco mysteriously don't seem to exist. Right.
quidditch is life
There was a time when Harry was convinced Oliver was god, or at least a demigod, and if he's quite honest with himself, he has to admit he’s never quite managed to cure himself of that conviction.
Which is why, after Gryffindor lose the Quidditch Cup to Slytherin in his sixth year, he’s determined to prove to Oliver that he’s not a bad Seeker. Five years later, he’s Seeker for the England Team for the World Cup.
Oliver owls him after the quarter final against Scotland, and the letter is part congratulatory, part pissed off for beating Scotland. In the semi-finals, England beat Spain with a wide margin, and Harry returns back to his room to find an owl from Oliver, just congratulating him.
He’s nervous for the final against Bulgaria. It’s the first time he’ll have to play against Viktor Krum, and they’ve won the Cup the last two times, but when he hears Oliver’s voice in the VIP stands, his nerves all seem to disappear.
They win, and when Harry lands after the victory lap, he’s surprised to find himself picked up and twirled by Oliver. He’s even more surprised when Oliver kisses him, pulls back, and grins.
I hope you like it. *bites nails*
Edit: Another drabble, because apparently, when inspiration strikes, it strikes good. For Elfie and Jeanne. Ilyssa and Megan, LN canon.
teacher's pet
Ilyssa's mother sometimes asks her, "Why teaching? You could earn a lot more by doing research, or working for the Ministry." She wonders about it herself, sometimes. She doesn't like being around people, and the job really doesn't pay enough to put up with the Weasley Twins for four years.
But then she goes to get a book from the library, and sees Megan Jones bent over her Arythmancy homework, frowning in concentration, and she knows someone has to try and teach these kids that Arythmancy is worth working hard for, and it's certainly not going to be Sybyl Trelawney.
Edit 2: Yes, yet another one. Wooo. For Dae, whom I hold responsable for the Weasley-obsession two of the three LN people in my head have. Lee about this letter. Apologies to Mr Joe Cocker for stealing the title of one of his songs.
the letter
At first, he thinks George did it on purpose, but when the second owl arrives, he's convinced it really was a mistake. He pretends he never saw the letter, and slips it into his pocket.
Sometimes, he takes it out and reads it, fingers sliding over the familiar scrawl, remembering all the times he’d nearly been caught with notes written in that exact same scrawl, remembering the first time they kissed, the last time they kissed, what George looks like in the early morning, ...
He can never help but wonder what he did to deserve this kind of happiness.
