The Three Towers Countdown: 3 hours, 8 minutes.

*runs in circles*

(In other news, flippin' heck, but it's difficult to put together a class shedule. *hits self with lamp* Why did I do this to myself?!? (Answer: Because I'm a geek.) Stupid LN. Stupid Ravenclaw brain. Stupid classes.)

If it helps at all, since no one but me probably took note of the timing of the fifth year Huffle classes, feel free to ditch that. (The fact that they have Potions with Ravenclaw and don't have HoM with them, however, probably should stay.)

Re:

No, that's fine, no problem there. Just trying to get a realistic shedule together without overburdening certain teachers. Gah.

So far, I'm going with the idea that all years are seperated into groups of two houses for the first five years, and sixth and seventh years are in one class. (Specialisation years, for OWLs, so less people will be taking it.)

I'm going with two hours/week for the "core classes" (Potions, HoM, Transfiguration and Charms), and one or two hours a week for the others, depending.

Six periods of one hour each day, an hour and a half for lunch, from 9AM till 16:30PM. (Except Astrology, of course, which is at night.)

Does this make sense at all to you? Sound okay?

Question. (Not an argument, just a question.) Why are those four the "core" classes, and not the others (Herbology and Astronomy come to mind; I'm not sure if I'm forgetting anything else) that everyone takes starting first year? (Potions, Transfiguration, and Charms made sense, easily, but I'm not sure about HoM.)

Hm. We may need to change the Hufflepuff practices around, then, because they were scheduled under the (completely out-of-thin-air, of course) assumption that classes ended at 3:30 PM. Still, if they practice from 5 to 7, as long as the house-elves will still feed them, that'll be okay, and will get them off the pitch before the other teams start at 7:30.

Re:

The whole Quidditch practise shedule would have to be redone, I'm afraid, because it's a bit impossible to have a team train every day. I think. (Help?)

Hm, do they start taking Herbology in first year? Because now I can't remember if they do. I was under the impression that wasn't until second year.

They do. I'm not sure we see any of the classes, but there's a comment toward the very end that Neville does well enough in Herbology to make up for his Potions marks.

(Technically, at the time, it was possible for the Huffles to train daily--not that I set that up, but it made sense to me. They had shorter practices than the other teams (though those seem to have got shorter), and had the pitch in the afternoons, while everyone else had them early in the morning or at night. But having an actual class schedule makes things have to change.)

Re:

Okay, I'll put that in as well, then. (Have to say, though, that two hours a subject a week makes for a very empàty shedule for the firsties. Hrm.)

I'll finish the class shedule first, and then I can compose a shedule per house/year, and i'oll take a look at the Quidditch shedules. It might work, still

Okay, shut me up, I'm now being a geek....

Well, the firsties shouldn't have THAT much less to do in a week... it seemed like, from PoA, that, in general, the 3rd-5th years have only two "extra" subjects (assuming the 6th/7th years were specializing for their NEWTs and therefore have a different schedule), and the firsties have two hours of flying lessons a week. So they'd only be in class two hours less than the third years.

The second years, OTOH, would have FOUR hours less of class than the 3rd-5th years, because they don't have the extra subjects AND they don't have flying lessons.

Damn. True. *frowns* I think maybe it'll be easier if I make the students's shedules instead of the teachers's. Shall have another look at it. I also need to get my books back. >_

What it's looking like, just from my thinking about it, is that it'll be hard to fit in more than 2 hours per subject per week, from the teachers' perspectives.

Uh, question. I saw your thing about the schedule up there, what about DAtDA? And CoMC? I was just wondering where they went to.
