Challenge by Elfie: femslash about Katie, involving a plush couch, and using no words of more than two syllables. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kaitoujeanne for quick beta. And er, be gentle? This is my first try at femslash.

girls

Katie recalls a time when she was normal. She would get up every morning, take a shower, brush her teeth, and then go down for breakfast. She still does these things every morning, just like she did before, but breakfast is no longer what it used to be.

She used to joke around with her friends. "My girls," Wood calls them. Now all she can think of is her. 'My girl.'

The seventh years have their own common room, with walls clad in a gold-like yellow, the carpet and curtains a faded, pink red, and, in front of the hearth, a couch in a deep crimson red that clashes with the Twins's hair.

The first time they kissed was on that couch, late at night, when everyone else was asleep. They'd snuck out, both in their night clothes, and she could still feel the way her skin had burned through the thin cloth.

There was a time when she stood alone, and that was just fine by her. Now there's someone by her side, and she wouldn't want it any other way.

They partner in Potions, and she slides her hand up Angie's thigh, fingers tracing across soft cotton and scratchy wool. She thinks, later, that Fred might have seen, but he never mentions it, and neither does she.

They never talk about it, not with each other and not with others, but both of them know. She is Angie's, and Angie is hers, and this is how things are.

Yoda you are now? Try, I will. Femslash muse I may have. Ponder this I shall.

Yoda I am not, yet stop to talk like this, I cannot seem to. oo; Encourage your muse, however, I shall. *encourages*

Re:

Addictive, it is. Talk like this for whole day, I did once. Encouragement, my muses generally do not need.

I've never been a big fan of femslash, for no reason in particular, but I love this.

Now the nibbled lip is curling up into a smile.

I'm not sure what sort of compliment pretty is. But. The words are pretty, they way you placed them. Soft. With a shy joyful honesty...

That's what I walk away from it with. That and this smile...

But then I look from this to what I've heard you wre RPing and dude, share the crack!

Re:

I swear to god, I'm normal when I'm alone. Honest. I blame Fleur.

And thank youu! Pretty is a big compliment, actually. I'm in a litgeek mode, so yeah. Mmm, words. So glad you liked.

I usually don't read femslash, but this piece was very good. I hope you write some more.

I don't usually read femslash either, let alone write it. :D So glad this came out all right. Thank you!
