NaNoWriMo: Day 7
Word Count: 2,128 (Yes, still.)

Ugh. Been holed up in meetings until now. Blaaaar. Only amusing thing was my collegue proposing to add "cynisism, sarcasm and purple" to our corporate standards. Ahahahaha!

Went to bed at nine thirty yesterday, hence the not getting any writing done. >_< And I've not written anything today, either, and I'll be at my parents tonight so no writing there, either. Aaaaaaargh!

On the bright side, I got up early enough this morning to be able to make myself pancakes for breakfast. Mmmm. Best day to start the day.

Heh. I find it amusing that this is the first picture I see of Tom with a fan, and the girl's not only clearly quite a bit older than the average fan I see photographed with, say, Dan, but also has bleached braids and black nail varnish. Bwah. Boy seems to appeal to a slightly different segment of the population. Gee, I wonder why? :D

I wish I could just refuse to book the meeting room for someone who does not speak sufficient English. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm a horrid person, but this bloke's lived and worked in the UK for several years now, and his grammar is still atrocious, and I just know he's not even gonna bother reading the rules, or understand what I'm saying when I tell him to keep his people in check because inevitably, they're going to be bothering me and making noise and wandering around disturbing people, and aaargh!

</pre-emptive stressing out>

I've got Monday off, so the plan for this weekend is to get caught up on NaNo up until today. I can do this, I know I can. It's only 10,000 words in three days, and then I'll only be three days behind anymore, and once I'm in the swing, I'll be writing plenty to be able to get caught up over next week. Right. I hope.

Tuesday and Wednesday, I'll be pretty much alone in the office, and um. Expect much cursing of Frontpage, for I shall be working on redesigning the office's website. Le whee.

She does look like your kind of girl.

Good thing about not seeing 8 Mile: I went to see The Santa Clause 2 instead, and it had a CoS trailer before it. McGonagall! But Lucius does not look at all like I imagined him. His hair is all weird.

(I think this not seeing 8 Mile thing has deprived me of my sense of logic and coherency.)

Re:

Yup. And find it amusing that Tom's the one who attracts the punkish crowd, when it's Dan who's the punk rock fan.

Lucius is kind of off-looking, yeah, but I rather liked the scene in the bookstore. The acting's v. good.

(At least you had on in the first place.)

Okay, so Dan starts hanging out with Tom because Tom gets the kind of bgirls Dan wants but doesn't get. Tom keeps making nasty/sarcastic comments about the girls. At first, Dan's annoyed because he likes the girls, but then Tom says something that's so funny he has to laugh, and then Tom raises his eyebrows and says soemthing like, "I knew you had a sense of humor." So then Dan's hanging out with Tom because he actually likes Tom. And then stuff happens. [This plot bunny originally written on a three-by-five card while waiting for 8 Mile to start.]

(And trust Em to take it away from me.

He didn't take the bunny. He took the logic and coherence.

Also, there's an article I think you'll enjoy in this morning's San Francisco Chronicle.

Logic and coherence are overrated.

Squee! Man, it's rare enough as it is to find a kid who likes old school punk instead of the Blink kind these days, but to Dan of all people ... Oooh, maybe this'll bring a few kids around to listening to it, too. Exellent. *rubs hands*
