It's not that I don't have a fandom that I'd love to drag both of you into, I just kind of doubt it stands a chance seeing as how it's anime. *g* Oh well.
Strong female characters -- how about Roswell? Much of it is really silly, but it has two strong, snarky female characters (this shows in the fic that's around, too -- people actually seem to like writing femslash for the show) and the two male leads are incredibly slashy. (The show itself is a far cry from perfect, but it's enjoyable and the fic potential makes up for much of it, I think.)(Then again, it's no Harry Potter, mythology-wise, and no VC either (as far as I can tell) -- the backstory is there, but it's not like it's really incredibly interesting/fascinating or anything.)
