Still feeling blah, but better than yesterday. Enough to be somewhat productive and do another reccs binge. Today, we look at some stuff from the femgeeks.net archives.

Cypher Muse - Things You Do When You're Sober
Okay, so i'm pretty much obliged to like this on the principle that it's Trainspotting slash. However, it's also actually good Trainspotting slash. Mmmm, Scottilicious.

Blame it on sobriety. Any thing can go through your mind when all the drug haze has faded. Even the crazy things that Mark Renton is thinking right now.

Thesseli - Hard Light
Red Dwarf slash. One of the best I've ever read. This show really deserves a bigger fandom, but until that happens, this'll keep me satisfied.

Lister smiled. He knew how much this must mean to him. Hell, it had meant a lot to _him_, when he'd reached over to touch Rimmer, as Legion watched them test the effects of the hard light drive. He was surprised at what he'd felt -- he hadn't known what it would be like, but he hadn't expected the hard light drive to so perfectly simulate the warmth of an actual human being. Actual human flesh. He'd felt a shiver run down his spine at that touch. Probably just the surprise of it, of genuine physical contact with a hologram, but Lister had to admit that he'd missed this. Deranged or not, Legion had certainly done them a favor. He thought of the look on Rimmer's face when he'd reached over and tapped him on the chest -- his first touch from another human being in years. And then when Rimmer reached out after that..._he_ had been the first thing he'd touched. That he'd wanted to touch.

Sigrina - Aftermath
BUGS slash. And yes, I know none of you know or care what BUGS was, but dude. I loved that series! And this story just captures it so well.

Later, he watched as Beckett slept. Sleep has deserted Ed. One hand touched the mark he had made on Beckett's neck. It stood out obscenely against the pale flesh.

He had never felt more awake. Or more alone.

Elvichar - Top, Middle and Bottom
I'm sure all sorts of people are now running away, screaming at the mere thought of Bottom slash. I don't care. I love Rick Mayall, and if anyone were to ever write me some Young Ones slash, I'd love them forever. Bottom slash, however, is also v. v. good.

"That's beside the point. The point is there are no women here - just you, and I'm hardly likely to want to seduce you now am I?"

Eddie looked disappointed, "Really? I would have thought you'd be grabbing any chance you got. It's not as if you're going to get any other offers. Ever. From anybody."

Richie ignored the insult and went straight to the crux of the matter. "And are you seriously saying you're offering?"

Colleen - Lock and Key
Incredibly good Sex Pistols slash. And wow, fancy that, she actually got the dialect right! (Er, yes, that annoys me in a lot of Sex Pistols fanfic.)

"Open the door," Sid pleaded. "I'll drop Nancy, an' it'll be just you an' me again. Like ol' times. 'Member, Johnny?"

"Yeah," Johnny said softly. He pulled the key out of his pocket and stared at it. All he would have to do is put it in the lock and turn it with a grinding click. There would be no more of this painful banging that rung in Johnny's ears. There would be no more of this suffering. </blockquote
