Since you do not have support services, only the authors with their author alert active will you receive alerts from them.
I'm trying to be calm and all, but waaaaah! Could someone please teach ff.net some grammar? Who did this? Who?

You know how you told me that Harry Potter is easy to find on ff.net? Well, I'm not a fanfic Nazi and I'm usually pretty tolerant of fumbles in things like grammar and spelling and yet I avoid that site like the bubonic plague!
Maybe it was just the fandoms I was reading in, or maybe it was just dumb luck in the fics I picked to read, but from my experience the stuff at ff.net is proof why sites like CABS exist.
Bad grammar, atrocious spelling, getting the *main characters'* names wrong, ludricrous plots, poor characterisation (have they actually *seen* the show?), hetting (dear Lord!), the itsy-bitsy totally pointless two-paragraph fic ... tbc?; name any fanfic sin, it's there. I haven't spent a *lot* of time on ff.net, but what time I have was like fanfic purgatory. So, no, not looking in ff.net for HP. :-/
Having ranted like that, I'm sure there are fine writers and some great fic on ff.net. I just haven't stumbled on any of it.

I would recc you some stuff, except well. I've been out of the actual fandom for ages, and honestly, you're better off relying on others' reccs.
