That whole desert thest thig that's doing the rounds? It's all a big pile of shit. The reason I saved my horse till last was not (necesarily) because I cling to my passion most, but because I would be riding it. Duh.

The ancient Japanese were full of shit.

I got rid of the cow second-to-last because I thought I could drink the milk in the desert, and the horse last because I could ride it. They didn't give much thought to practicalities when they put this test together, did they? LOL.

Re:

Exactly. My choices were based on pure logic. The money goes first, because it's annoying, and a lion could (theoretically) protect me from any harm I might encounter. But I'd get rid of it before I get rid of the useful animals like the cow (as you said, milk = drink) and sheep (also milk) and the horse (for riding on).

Another fine example of ancient wisdom simplified for the masses. Sigh.

*lol* me too. and i sacrificed the monkey first because i hate monkeys. although i hate children too, so i guess that one worked out pretty well.

*heh* I got rid of the lion first, cause I thought it would eat me. And I kept the horse because I wanted to ride it to freedom! Whee!

No shit-- the reason I would get rid of the horse first is because i'm allergic to them.

Anthropologically, the ancient Japanese, extending from the Heian period into the early Tokugawa period of the 1700's, was a variation on ideas imported from the Chinese renaissance of the Song and Ming dynasties.

its by association-- we chinese are full of shit
and so are the japanese.
astounding logic.

I did mean monkey, you know. But yes. Monkeys are annoying.

Unless they sit on Peter Buck's lap. Then they're just cute.
