I dun like French calls first thing in the morning. *blusters through call* Dear French people: Thank you, each and every one of you, for being nice and understanding with my halting, stuttering French, and for understanding that I do know my shit, it's this language thing I'm tripping over.

Random Link o' the Day, WoW edition: Interesting ad on Yahoo mail, hat tip to [livejournal.com profile] cynamin. Eheheheh. Um. They're targeting meeeeee!

(I still need a WoW icon. Hrm.)

And now, we apply for jobs!

This concept has been around for a while, but Sars did the iChing thing this week, and I figured hey, let's ask the iChing what's going to happen in re: this job situation of mine:

1. Arethna Franklin - I Say A Little Prayer For You Aw, thanks, Arethna. I guess that's a good sign, to start out with. Also, damn great song.

2. Meat Loaf - The Promised Land Another good sign, woohoo! "Tell the folks back home this is the Promised Land calling / And the big boy is on the line." Which seems to imply a great job is going to land in my lap! *crosses fingers*

3. Meat Loaf - Amnesty Is Granted ... Again with the Meat Loaf. Do I want to read into that, or is this just because I have his entire catalogue on my iTunes? Although, he's not the most represented artist in my music library. o_O "I'm growing tired of feeling like I do" Yeah, pull up a chair and tell me about it, iTunes. "Come on baby let's start again right now." Sounds good to me! iTunes is definitely supportive of my jobhunting, I'd say. :D

4. U2 - Staring At The Sun Heh, speaking of artists more represented in my iTunes than Meat Loaf. "Stuck together with God's glue / It's going to get stickier too." This ... could possibly be a reference to the number of times I've been about to leave this job and failed (stopped searching), and a warning that it's about to get even harder than before to leave this job, and apparently the solution is to "Don't try too hard to think / Don't think at all." So, don't think, just keep sending out applications, you're saying? Right. I'll get on that, then.

5. U2 - Ultraviolet (Light My Way) Sometimes I think I obsess over certain artists too much, heh. "Sometimes I feel like I don't know / Sometimes I feel like checkin' out." Oh, hell yes. I'm gonna say this one is pretty much "Go for it, you'll make it, too: "Baby, baby, baby / Light my way."

Conclusion: Great new job, here I come!

Hm, but, should I change my hair, or go for it and try jobhunting with a mohawk?

1. Johnny Cash - Bird On A Wire "Like a bird on the wire / Like a drunk in a midnight choir / I have tried in my way to be free." That's ... nice, thanks, but I'm not sure of the message, here. Should I stick with my little bit of personal freedom? Give it up because it's a relatively empty gesture/symbol anyway? Or maybe, listening to the rest of the lyrics, the message is that I should apologise to my hair for any wrong I've done to it. But by growing it out and no longer bleaching it, or by shaving it and then apologising for mowing the hawk? iTunes is getting into this oracle gig too much, I think.

2. Guns 'n' Roses - Don't Cry Well, it's Guns 'n' Roses, so you'd think "Go long!" would be the obvious message, although they're nice about it: "Don't hang your head in sorrow / And please don't cry." But my mohawk! :(

3. John Denver - For Baby (For Bobbie) ... I have absolutely no idea what to make of this. I suppose I could interpret this as "You'll look great with long hair, go for it!" But I can also interpret it as "They'll love you regardless of your hairstyle, go for it!" I really think, though, that iTunes just threw this up to give me musical whiplash. Bastard.

4.Metallica - Seek And Destroy Well, okay then, iTunes, I get the message. Burn everything down, salt the earth, start again, I get it.

5.Evita OST - She Is A Diamond "She's a diamond in their dull, gray lives / And that's the hardest kind of stone / it usually survives." Well, yeah, it won't kill me to shave the 'hawk, but you know, I don't want tooooooo!

Conclusion: iTunes may well be right, but I'm not giving in just yet, dammit.

Anyone else want to ask a question of the iTunes Oracle though my often embarassing collection of songs? :D
