*flops* Is it Friday yet? This has been the busiest week in ages, between the new-computer-and-OMG-leak weekend, Mags visiting on Monday, dinner with jane on Tuesday, game yesterday, and game today, my first evening off will be tomorrow. I've not done the dishes in a week, and I have laundry to do, and general relaxing and writing!
On the up side, I just took my first tech support call, and I only had to ask for help once, and the akswer to that question was "Yeah, that needs to be escalated," so I think I did pretty well. I definitely felt pretty confident, and I don't think it showed that it was my first call, which is good. This confirms my theory that what reall counts in this job is how confident you are on the phone, how well you can blag, and your problem-spotting and information-gathering skills. The actual product you support is kind of secondary to those.
