There's a full moon tonight, and Mercury is apparently in retrograde, and let me tell you, I don't care how much I don't believe in astrology, it shows. Every month around the full moon, without fail, the crazies come out. Don't they have a shack to be haunting?
I decided to wear jeans and sandals to the cinema, go change in the loo when I'm there, and then change back before I go home. It feels kinda silly, because I'm not normally the frightened type, but the idea of walking even that little distance (it's about five minutes from my place to the cinema) in four-inch heels I can barely walk, let alone run in, and wearing a skirt that comes up to my arse, just makes me feel vulnerable. It's odd, because it's not the first time I've work semi-revealing clothes in public, but I hadn't realised how much of my self-confidence and feeling of safety is tied in with my footwear. Huh.
(Not that i feel too bad about it, really, because I'm still not all that frightened, it's more wanting to avoid twisted ankles and being catcalled by annoying teenagd Neds. But still.)
