From [livejournal.com profile] fannishfive: Name the five scenes that make you melt in True Fannish Love. Every. Single. Time. You know the scenes, the ones that either pimped you in, or proved to you that you had well and truly fallen.

I always have problems with this sort of question, not because I don't have five of those scenes, or because I can't choose, but because my mind insists on going blank when I'm faced with the question. I suppose it's a consequence of being a fannish butterfly. So, I in no way guarantee that this is a complete list, if only because this is FPS only, but off the top of my head:

  1. I have to start out with the granddaddy of them all, the scene that opened my eyes to slash several years before I even found slash online. From The Defiant Ones, and I feel the only thing that can truly explain why I love this scene is a screencap. )
  2. Secondly, from Babylon Five and incredibly predictably, The Fall of Centauri Prime, G'Kar and Londo saying goodbye. If you've seen the episode, you know whereof I speak. If you've not seen it yet, I'm not going to spoil you.
  3. Then there's the "You're Brando, babe." scene from Space: Above and Beyond, which isn't just femslashy, but also features two hot women kicking some major ass, and I'm always a fan of that.
  4. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the book, the first Quidditch match. Leeeeeee! My boy! Oh, the sarcasm!
  5. The Return of the King, the movie. I briefly wanted to put the Gríma/Éowyn scene from The Two Towers here, but in the end, what really and truly makes me melt is when finally, the "All that is gold does not glitter" rhyme shows up. I can never keep myself from muttering it along with the voiceover.

On a completely different subject, anyone want to recommend my some Christmas songs? Traditional, modern, whatever.

(Relatedly, am I just being overly nostalgic or something, or is the Band Aid 20 version of Do They Know It's Christmas? rather ... off? It's not bad, overall, but um. Rap? WTFeth?)

Kay, so apparently I can walk and chew gum at the same time, but I can't read porn and listen to Christmas music without wigging out. Good to know.
