Monday morning (ed. note: when I started writing this) and my brain is trying to convince me that FO:pattern::fanfic:canon. I need coffee. Or possibly enough alcohol to kill off whichever braincell is responsible for this, grar.

Today's User Friendly resonates with me on a very basic level. I may have to print this out to hang up in my pseudocubicle.

I hate it when nice customers have legitimate problems that take ages to fix. Because then I spent an hour on the phone with them and it's still not fixed, and ajklsdlaksjdlkjdqmwn poodoo.

Today's tautological statement has a moral to it: Don't mix flavours. Everything already has a taste, and as such we shouldn't mix things to make different flavours.

Or perhaps it is to simple to look at the moral meaning and look at it in a social context: flavouring coffee is wrong and thus people who drink it are wrong.

Perhaps instead of this cut and paste attempt at sequential art (not only in the cliché dialog but the art itself), a statement would be clearer and more direct: "Other people are wrong. When you share my beliefs, we can laugh together at the people who are wrong, although that doesn't stop me from laughing at you. In the end, I am the only one who is right."

But, that is what I think of userfriendly, I don't really find it that funny any more. :)

I stopped reading UserFriendly years ago, when I realised that it wasn't funny and that the art was both terrible and badly copy/pasted. (A comic went up with presumably the layers in the wrong order or something, as a large white block surrounded one of the characters covering the background and props.)

It was actually the first webcomic that I'd read for any length of time and then /stopped reading/. I later removed PvP as well - while the art there is infinitely better than UF, it also wasn't funny and the guy doing it was an arse.

It's scary to think that I've been reading some of these things for five years. :o)
