I would've thought you'd called yourself Mellie in English, not Mel. Sounds kinda funny, 'cause I'm not used to it. :-) Though kleine puit sounds cute, too.
Well, Melle is short for Armelle, which would be pronounced Arrr-Mel, and it's only recently that I've started introducing myself to people as Melle IRL first, so it only recently occured to me that people might think it's Mel-as-in-Melanie-or-even-worse-as-in-Gibson. :D
