Siege update: Still besieged. They're no longer crowding right under my windows, but they're totally blocking Ardmillan Terrace further up the road, which means that if I want to go to Dalry Road, which I'll have to do to get more gas and electricity and recharge my bus pass, I'll have to either find an alternate route or brave the crowd. I'll have to venture outside anyway, because my tobacco won't last me until tomorrow.

Note to self: Call mum this evening to wish her a happy Mother's Day.

[ETA] The Conquering Heroes have arrived. The crowds are dispersing. Thank fuck, maybe I'll be able to get through in a bit. [/ETA]

Hearts of Midlothian Football Club just won the Scottish Cup last night. Their home stadium (Tynecastle) is right around the corner from me, so the celebrations have been taking place right under my window. And I do mean that literally--the bus with the Conquering Heroes passed close enough for me to almost shake hands with them from my window, and the supporters filled up the whole damned (wide!) street last night. It's slightly less so today, but there's still a huge crowd up at the corner near the stadium.

Am a-scared. O_O

It was, yes. We actually have two mother's days, one on the second sunday in May, which is the one we celebrate in my family, and the Catholic one on Mary Ascension in ... August, I think?
