I keep looking over at my bookcases, now mostly filled with books, and doing a little dance of glee. They look so proper! And domestic, and geeky and wheeeee! Okay, yes, I'm a dork, but I'm a dork with a huge collection of books that's been locked up in boxes for nearly a year now, so allow me a little dorkish glee, yes?

Almost all my stuff's been picked up, except one load of stuff that I can drop off at the charity shop if this bloke doesn't get back to me by next week, and my desk, and I'm hoping to get most of the cleaning done by Sunday, so I can spend next week alphabetising my books, and then do deep cleaning next weekend. (Or possibly just put it off until the weekend before mum gets here.)

... What? What's so weird about alphabetising my books? Fiction alphabetically by author, non-fic by subject. How else am I supposed to be able to find books when I want them?

We once, after a move and waiting for our new home to be ready, had our books in storage for 6 months.

Thankgfully, my books were still accessible, but it's SO NICE to not have to dig through several boxes to find the book I want!

Um.. I guess maybe it's not such a bad idea after all. Sometimes it does take me a while to find the one I'm looking for. (I have mine somewhat in order, all books by the same author next to each other.) :) Though, what if it's a series of books by the same author and the third book has a title that begins with a letter that comes before the title of the first and second book?

Well, then it's alphabetised on the first letter of the series (or the first book), and series are in order. :)

Ha! My parents have a house full of books. And they also have a whole bunch of books in boxes in the garage. I made my mom clean out her books a couple of years ago. They had been packed since 1975.

It would drive me insane if they were all mixed up. If nothing else, I don't need another way for me to not notice/remember I've lent books to people!
