There is cricket on my TV, and my fourteen-year old brother has a seventeen-year old girlfriend named Sofie.

Right, then.

*raised eyebrows* Does this signal some sort of unresolved issues?

I'm just kidding, mostly. My brother's ex-girlfriend was named Abby, which is the name of one of our cousins. (Although I think the ex-girlfriend spelled it weird.)

Also, I read that as, "There is a cricket on my TV," which made me wonder why you didn't just put it outside.

Re:

I have no idea, but it's all very odd. Especially since neither our parents nor hers know the age difference is that big.

Is this the girl who thinks he's an older bloke? Anyway, could you possibly ask him to give me a few pointers on how to pick up girls?   ;-)

A few months ago I met a girl in person called Sofie. We talked for a while and exchanged e-mail addresses, but she never replied to mine. Biiiiiiiitch...   :-(

Re:

No, SHE knows he's younger, although her parents don't. And mine don't know she's quite that much older.

Freaky. Do you read Dear Abby? She just recently had this whole thing about a couple where he was 18 and she was 13, but her parents thought he was 17. Anyway, Abby pointed out the potential legal consequences, and then other readers wrote in to mention that 13-year-olds change an awful lot, and she may not want to be with him in a couple of years.

I do, yes, and I did read that. But hey, I don't think either of them are under the delusion this is forever, so I just htink it's really fucking cute. :D
