Reality check here, folks. Ff.net is a free service. As free services come, it's pretty damn good one. Especially when I think back to the way it was in the very, very early beginning, when I joined up the first time. So you don't like them getting rid of the hits. So you don't like the way the categories are run? So you don't like whateverthefuckitis you don't like? Get the fuck over it. Start your own fanfic archive. Whatever. Don't bitch about the hand that feeds you. Because these people are spending their own money on this, and devoting time to this that they could spend on much better things, and could potentially get in serious legal trouble for this, and they don't seem to be getting much acknowledgement for it. So:
Xing, Meimi, Cairnsy, and everyone else I might be forgetting, you people rock. I am in complete, utter awe of you and I love the way ff.net is being run. Don't let the bitchers grind you down.

fanfiction.net
That site's problems kind of remind me of this site...it's getting big so fast, and so many people are getting spoiled and not realizing that the site is run by very busy human beings.
It is a good site with some good stories, and I like having a place to post...I might start using it again.
Re: fanfiction.net
And yes, exactly, I don't understand why people think any free service 'owes' them anything. I mean, with free webservers I can understand it, becausre they're getting income from the banner ads, and those are usually professionally-run services, so you should expect some professionality. But dammit, these are people doing this for 'fun'. I pity them, reeally I do. Poor souls.
And it's not just a fanfic/ff.net thing, either. I've seen the same happen with Keenspot and Elfwood. The fucking fuck, man?
