Dear Kellog's Company: These wheat an oatmeal bakes with chocolate chips are both delicious and nutricious enough to help me make it through the first patr of the morning. I love you!
For anyone who's pissed off at South Dakota banning abortions, you will love this:
The President of the Oglala Sioux Tribe on the Pine Ridge Reservation, Cecilia Fire Thunder, was incensed. A former nurse and healthcare giver she was very angry that a state body made up mostly of white males, would make such a stupid law against women.
"To me, it is now a question of sovereignty," she said to me last week. "I will personally establish a Planned Parenthood clinic on my own land which is within the boundaries of the Pine Ridge Reservation where the State of South Dakota has absolutely no jurisdiction."
You can find info on how to donate, either specifically for the clinic or just to the tribe in general, and on how to contact President Fire Thunder, here.
Even the quiz mocks my lack of sex life:

(And, um, yes. Lots of sense.)

Exactly, I think before, he probably figured Simon was exaggerating, but if he's actually thought about it now, he'd probably realise that Simon's done some pretty gutsy things, leaving his entire life behind and risking death or worse to get his sister out, and I do think Jayne'd respect him for that.
(Actually, even before, no matter how much Jayne wanted River off the ship, I don't think he'd ever fault Simon for rescuing her, because Jayne'd do the same for his family.)
(And, um, yes. Lots of sense.)
(Ha! Success! Really, sometimes Mal can be as dumb as Jayne, can't he? (Zoe: "Men. *shakes head*")

(Aw, I dunno, nobody did find out, did they? I think it's just he considers his crew human, sure, but in some ways they're also just an extension of Serenity -- you fix the bits that aren't working, you just do it. I mean, telling Simon wouldn't fix the rattly noises his crew is making, it would make it worse. (Of course, he does not think of himself as part of this crew-machine, so the idea that by doing this he makes potential for himself to be/initiate rattly noises later on probably doesn't occur to him.
...
Or possibly I'm overanalyzing.)

Yes! Again, Jayne's not that bright, and needed to actually be told, ni so many words, that River isn't just crazy, someone did that to her, and Simon didn't just take her out of the loony bin for a lark or something. (The way he looks at the projection of river's brain is just. Yes. He looks almost sick when Simon talks about her getting her brain cut into. It's one of my favourite scenes of that ep, right up there with the awed-and-kinda-turned-on look Jayne gives Simon in the hospital proper.)
(Or possibly I'm overanalyzing.)
Actually, I think you're making perfect sense. :D It's just, I don't know if everyone on Serenity would be quite so happy about being treated like rattly engine bits, and yeah, Mal definitely needs to realise he's as much of an engine bit as the rest of them. Really, when it comes to social interaction, he's almost as dumb as Simon. even Jayne's at least marginally people-smarter than them!

And good! I thought I made lots of sense. I think his problem is not so much poor social interaction as much as not-being-an-engine-bit. Or! Possibly the way he acts around Inara is his treating someone not like an engine bit, and in which case, go Mal! Treat them all like engine bits! At least you're deeply fond of said engine bits and treat them well.

My googletalk isn't letting my sign in! Woe. :(

... Very good point, yes, Mal, do continue to treat them like engine bits! You do enough damage with Inara! *hides rest of crew under assorted beds so Mal can't hurt them*

And, and! He won't hurt his other engine bits! He needs them for Serenity to work, and he luffs Serenity. So he luffs them. See? *logic!*

Yes! Awww, Mal. He means well, even if Zoe should really whack him with a rolled-up newspaper sometimes.

(I don't knoooow, they're for the party on Saturday, so we haven't cooked them, just put them in the fridge to taunt me with their cheesy goodness. I'm not even supposed to be eating cheese right now. *misses her cheese whine* But I will on Saturday. Because LASANGA. Food of cheese-obsessed gods.
... but I fear it will not taste all that good, due to the demented.)
