You know, Katie keeps telling me my brain is completely permeated by slash, and I always kinda thought I wasn't that bad, but now ...

I had a Pinky and the Brain SLASH DREAM!

Somebody kill me?

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Well, I think so, Brain, but where are we going to find a duck and a rubber hose at this time of night?

Pinky and the Brain are *made* to be slashed!

"I think so, Brain, but how are we going to fit into the leather outfits?"

Pinky and the Brain even canonically have a child together. Do share the contents of your dream.

Not much details, I fear. All I remember is that I was Pinky. Am muy disturbed.

(And there was this woman who was hitting on me (Pinky) except I didn't want her because she'd shaved off hre pubic hair. Huh?)

Was she naked, or did you just know that about her?

Re:

She was naked. Which made it all the more befuddling, because much as shaved-off pubic hair is a turnoff for me, I'd not turn down any woman throwing herself at me.

Hrm. Stupid dream-me.

But dream-you wasn't you. Dream-you was a mouse in love with another mouse.

Have I mentioned that I have Pinky and the Brain toys? They're usually in front of a picture of the beach. They need a nice romantic vacation together.

Awwww, that's so cute! Okay, yeah, so Pinky and the brain ARE cute. I just prefer them to be cute somewhere outside my dreams.

They're adorable. I still love the whole thing about their kid. You can't tell me that the makers of the show didn't know what they were doing.

Oh, I'm completely convinced that slash is common knowledge in most of showbizz, and that quite a number of people deliberately play up to it. Because yeah, hi, the kid? It's so not our imagination. (That's my story and i'm sticking to it.)

Heh. Don't you get upset with people who say the same thing about slashable real people?

I don't think they're aware of slash; I think they're aware of the homoeroticism of the situation and slyly acknowledge it.

Not in and of itself, no. I hate it when people use it as a "justification" (to themselves or others) for writing RPS. Because RPS is not only okay if the subjects are "asking for it". :)

And yes, good point. ^_^

Ah, well, I guess I'm just the only one who gets irritated by it in any context. For all that we think we're so influential, slashers are a very small part of the world. What people like the Pinky and the Brain creators are playing up to is the gay and lesbian market which has, or so recent research shows, a great deal of disposable income and brand loyalty.

[identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com 2002-09-20 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Hm, true.

(I have to say, I have the (annoying) habit of using "slash(y)" as a shortcut to mean "homoerotic" a lot. Should stop that.)

"Slashy" and "homerotic" are synonyms, as are "slashiness" and "homeroticism," but "slash" and "homoeroticism" are not.
