I'm seriously contemplating a cutting-down of Wax-like proportions. Fandom is making me almost physically sick. I'm tired of the kernuffles and the cliques and the gossip and the shit. And I know one of the reasons I see more of all that than others is because I don't "belong" to a side or a clique of a subgroup of fandoms and therefore I get the "joy" of seeing both sides, but. Gah.

I don't want to get out of fandom entirely. I want to continue reading and writing and discussing things. But I do think I'm going to do some drastic cutting of my friends list and take off everyone I'm not actually friends (or friendly) with. And then i'm going to go and look for some non-fandom people to add, so I can get some fucking pespective.

I've managed to ignore the kerfluffles so far -- I read most of the lists via web, so I just pick out the fic and ignore the agonized postings around them. And the SDB I only see as suddenly vanished journals.
