Yes, of course, the way to make a 10-yo girl with a history of abuse bond with her adoptive mother is to wrap her up really tight, make her hurt, make her fear for her life, tell her to die, and basically just fucking abuse her all over again. Jesus! Note how I said 'make' and not 'help', because what these people did was not 'help' at all. And, as stresskitten pointed out, if she hadn't died, they'd have just gotten away with it, too. Am now wondering what world is coming to. Have strong urge to go to parents' and hug brother and make his entire life okay again so the he's-living-my-life-all-over-again thing is stopped right then and there. Fucking. [More ranting here, because I'm in that sort of mood.]
