- I am so jealous of Nat and her writer's conference. Mimph. [Kidding, Nat. Hope you had fun. Wish I'd been there. Bah.]
- Tripod can fucking bite me! Vali's coming over to femgeeks, so na, you can't keep her down. Eat that, you gestapo nazi's!
- Nette is also gonna get a website on femgeeks, and since my brother's site is in the 'look, I'm actually working on it now' stage, I'm probably gonna be short some space. That's okay, though. I have to pay a ridiculously small amount of [extra] money anyway, so I'll be asking them if I can upgrade the webspace while I'm at it. And fuck it if that means less money to spend in NY. This is important.
- Next time I say I'm gonna turn in early and not go out long on a Saturday or whatnot, just hit me, okay? Jesus. 4AM by the time I was in bed. Awoke at 4PM, got up at 6PM. HEadache. Owie.
- Am prolly going to take aforementioned brother to Harry Potter movie. He agress about McG being too old, but wants to go anyway, and I think I can put up with the annoyance for his sake. Also, the thought of Rick Mayall going "Oooh, ickly firsties. What fun." is makjing me goo. I'm weird like that.

Do you have space for someone else? I'm trying to move Beth's site before Tripod closes it down and i'm having a heck of a time. that's mostly due to not knowing what the HELL i'm doing (embarrasingly computer illiterate). i tried to do the ftp thing today and still no luck. if you have space, please let me know at viedma9@yahoo.com.
Thanks a bunch!

[And thanks, I had no idea who was supporting U2 over here. I knew twas PJ Harvey in the States.]
Re:
PJ Harvey too? Fiend! (The Stereophonics thing was announced at Dotmusic. 9/10 of its articles are about Puff Daddy, but it can be quite useful.) But, ooh, yes, thanks for the offer. You know, that might just be within the realms of possibility - I'll be in Canterbury then, so it's not too far to travel. Whether this will fit in with my hypothetical summer job, I have no idea (I won't start looking until May), but it should be manageable. Can I get back to you on this?

Re: tickets - Actually, I may also have more tickets for the first concert as well, so you can chose. First concert is Sunday, 5 August, second one Monday 6 August. Will prolly be taking The Brother to the first one, so if you want to avoid 12 year olds you may want to ome to the second one. I will also have room available to stay, btw. If all goes well, I'll have a studio/apartment of my own by then. [Whoooboy, sudden giddy moment there.]
Re:
Hmm - it said the Stereophonics were only playing Antwerp on August 5th, so that would be the one I'd rather attend. (Unless Madness are supporting on the 6th. Will have to find out?) (Also, the 5th is a Sunday, which would fit in better with taking a weekend off from Hypothetical Job.) I don't mind 12 year olds and room available to stay = v. handy and most gracious I am for the offer.

Re:
The length is a bit bad, though. Were we to get t-shirts made, it would really difficult if you got a pack of letters with only one of each in. When I have money, I might just about manage TimKrys&ZedCon, if they count "&" as a letter, but the three of us have far too many 'e's.

Mmmm, T-Shirts ...
Re:
The t-shirts I've found are tres good. Black, in many a size, with funchie white capital letters. I have this nasty feeling you need to iron them on, though. Ironing! Arrrrrrgh!

Re:
Do you ever feel guilty for having this sort of conversation via Livejournal, taking up their space and making people think you're discussing something with relevance to the original entry? I like it though - I feel a lot more compelled to answer livejournal posts than normal e-mails.

I have to be in Swindon on Friday, and we're flying to London and from there taking the train to Swindon. So I have transportation to London, then to Swindon and back to London, and then on Sunday back to Belgium. I just need entertainment, and maybe a place to sleep. [Do you know of any good places?]
I love my job. Trip to Swindon in May, trip to Glasgow in July, ...
And no. I have no guilty feelings. Ever. <g>
Re:
Entertainment-wise: I'd definitely recommend Camden (well, I want to go back there myself), if you don't feel too embarrassed about drooling in public and don't mind feeling insanely jealous of the people who can afford to dress impressively every day. (Although I've got this theory that they just have really bad hygiene and wear the same clothes every day...) What else? Well, you probably know as much about Nodnol as I do: there's myriad museums and lots of stoof to see, if anything tickles thine fancy. When I've had netmeetings there, I've usually spent the day sitting in cafes, looking round shops, and walking about and taking a lot more tubes than strictly necessary.
I wish I knew a good place to sleep myself! Sadly, the only people I know in London are friends' relatives who I don't really feel I can impose myself (never mind anyone else) upon. What's your coworker doing about accommodation? Slimelight is as good a place as any to spend a Saturday night (it runs from 10 - 7.30), if you don't mind not sleeping, or sleeping on a metal box (unless you're v. lucky and get a sofa to yourself) to the sound of loud goth/industrial music. (It's not as difficult as it sounds.)
Lucky you. I never got to go any further afield than Northallerton, a v. boring town in a neighbouring county, for my job. Why precisely are you going to Swindon, byzeway?

Camden et Slimelight sound great. I am able to sleep anywhere, so tshouldn't be a problem. And cheap, as well. <g>
Re:
Slimelight is £8 (for non-members), but still cheaper than a night at any sort of proper lodging. Let me know which weekend you're coming, when you find out, and we'll make a more detailed plan then.
