Two seperate people on my friends list have just declared that HP is the root of all evil.

Um.

HP

as in Harry Potter??????

Maybe a little over-hyped (which is why I haven't read them yet) but nothing beyond that....

Maybe they were saying it tongue-in-cheek?

Apparently, it's HP the boy. Who is keeping Ron and Draco apart, and made Voldie evil.

Do not ask. We are odd. :D

You mean he's also responsible for MSN not letting me log on? And ICQ deleting my contact list?

Do yourself a favor - ignore the overhype and read em anyway.

I was like that too - I get like that about a lot of stuff. I've never willingly watched an ep of Friends or Seinfeld, never seen "Titanic", and so on... but HP is worth getting past the hype for. *nodnodnod*

thanks for the gentle push - sometimes I need that. problem is that I haev a LOT of books to read for work and when I have time to read something that doesn't directly affect me, I have a very small window to read something I want to read ... which can include teh ne Stephen King, the new Left Behind, the new Rita Mae Brown, the new Robert B. Parker and any number of adult and kids novels bartering for my attention. I also want to read Phillip Pullman, and it's even pubbed in teh stares by the company I work for - but haven't had the time...

By the way, I *saw* Titanic because I was at a friend's hosue and she made me and I cried and I hated it that I cried becuase I didn't even want to see the damn thing to start with.....

I'll go and ask my Scholastic contact for a set of HP's and after she picks herself up off the floor I'm sure I'll get me that set to put in the pile of 'must reads' for 'my time for myself to read'.

Thanks...

:)

my *first* Rita Mae was BINGO and I read it on the plane home from Frankfurt, Germany, many moons ago and it was SO HARD not to laugh out loud several times. I was hooked from that moment on. And my kitties swear by Sneaky Pie Brown too.
