Bed time. Had hot chocolate. Still more scared now than I was yesterday.

Mr Bush, sir? Don't do anything rash? Please?

Good night, everyone. I love you all.

Sadly, I think he's going to do something. All this talk of hunting down the people and the place that's harboring them and punishing them. I don't want to have him hurt innocent people... that'll be just as bad as what the terrorists did to us.

I agree. I hope that no one does anything out of revenge. Love to everyone, jx

One opinion here: I was born into the Cold War and remember it quite distinctly (I'm 31), and the huge changes in foreign policy--and the confusion, and the missteps--that happened when it ended. I think we are in fact headed for another war, not a "hot" war of drafts and troop movements but a second cold war of increased espionage, the old containment doctrines dusted off and pressed back into service, 95% of what happens happening behind closed doors before we actually know it's being implemented as policy. And it will be a "war" lasting not weeks or months, but just like Cold War I, decades.

I'd really prefer to be wrong about that. But on the off chance I'm not: Fasten your seatbelts, all you kids who have no memory of that mentality, 'cause it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

God. I don't really remember the cold war; I was 11 when it ended, and we felt so much less from it here in Europe anyway. But shit. Just, no.

That's really what I'm expecting to evolve out of this, slowly but surely. I remember it very distinctly, growing up in Reagan's America at the height of the nuttiness...it's a, well, weird landscape, I'll say that much for it.

I'm just going to selfishly hope we'll not be too affected by it over here. The last thing I need is to find myself in a country paranoid towards about 10% (my guess, prolly not too far off) of its population and oh, god, as if the fascists didn't already have 20% of the votes. And I live in a muslim neighbourhood in a city where they have over 25%. Shit, shit, shit!

Okay, overreacting again. things'll prolly be much worse for you lot, so if anyone needs a place to live, I have a semi-big flat.
