A poll, a poll! And then the easy chair!

Payday is here! That means I'm now having to decide something. So, obviously, I'm asking you lot for help.

[Poll #965744]

[ETA] I should note here that the first question is not an either/or situation. I am perfectly willing to buy several bits of new electronics with the excuse of "Livejournal told me to!" :D [/ETA]

so where is the "for Yoda instead of me" option? ;)

and the hordes of ticky boxes?

[There was a very silly Horde-vs-Alliance joke here, but it was deleted due to dangerously high levels of geekery. We apologise for the inconvenience. - The Management]

There's ticky boxes, dammit! If you want more of them, make your own damn poll. :p

but the WoW joke... the WoW joke...

While I selected 'buy a Mac', I'm happy to provide advice on getting Linux working. :o)

[identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com 2007-04-13 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Bless. :D I put that option in there specially for you, you know.

...I suppose you don't mean my Bill?

[identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
... No. Why, does you Bill tells people to burn the heretics? o_O

I like Ubuntu. It's so damn easy to use. When I get a Mac (at some point in the future), I think I will triple boot OS X, Vista, and Ubuntu. Because you can never have enough OSes, apparently. :P

[identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
Ha! If I had the money to buy a Mac, I'd do that too. Except with XP rather than Vista, because Vista sort of makes me twitch. :/

Redhat's probably the easiest Linux for newbies to it, but Dréan likes Slackware or Ubuntu.

...I think he said Ubuntu. That could be a brainfart, though, so be careful. XD

[identity profile] bubosquared.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Next comment up says Ubuntu as well, yeah. :D I guess it's time to do some research!

I'm a big fan of offsite backups, what with the tendency of drives to just GO BAD. That is all.

Yeah, I went with the DVD player for now, and will decide when I actually get around to reformatting if I want to dual boot or not. I may wait another year and research first.
