Now that I've finally seen Rise of the Cybermen:

Like almost all the Dr Who slashfen on my friendslist I want Mickey/Rickey. Badly.
After this episode, anyone claiming they'd not read Mickey slash will laughed out of the room. Boy is fine, and I rather appreciated the mostlye naked scene there.

Mickey, like the Doctor, is made of woobie. Woobie and awesome!
The Cybermen didn't scare me, but then neither did the Daleks. Between then not having been the great scary monsters of my youth (as I never watch Dr Who before) and a childhood of reading Stephen King and other horror writers, it takes something like the clockwork drones to truly frighten me. Basically, if it doesn't appear in my bedroom and make scary ticking noises at me, I'm fine.

Cybermen and Daleks aren't really going to be scary for adults - or most children these days - in and of themselves. If nothing else, they're cliché now, and have suffered from continual comedy use in the gap between Seven and Nine.

Mickey is always hot, he was just a particularitly naked (well, mostly naked) kind of hot in this ep. :D

Everything becomes at least a little bit routine after a while, even saving the world, so when Rose and the Doctor go off to do some undercover heroics posing as newlyweds, Mickey opts to stay with the TARDIS. "I'd just be in the way, blow your cover" he told Rose, and ignored Jack's suggestion of going undercover themselves. "Go, do your thing," he waved them off, only partially surprised to find himself not jealous at all. They can go have all the fun they want, Mickey's having a nice, relaxing day in today. It's a nice enough planet, and the sun is out, so he finds a nice tree to sprawl under, and settles down for a nap.

The rain comes out of nowehere and takes him by surprise, and by the time he gets back to the TARDIS, he's soaked right down to his underwear. "Back so soon?" Jack's voice comes from under the TARDIS console, followed by the rest of him. "Oh. Forgot to warn you about the rain on this planet, didn't I?"

"What about the rain?" Mickey asks, slightly suspicious. The rain seems perfectly normal to him, but then, so did those flowers on that one planet, and those ended up being them all as loopy as an aging hippie.

"Tends to appear out of nowhere, take you by surprise," Jack says, grinning in a way that's doing nothing to abate Mickey's suspicions. "The good news is," and suddenly he leans in and licks Mickey's cheek, and Mickey knows he should be revolted, but he's not, not really, "It tastes really good." he tilts his head, looking almost contemplative. "Hint of strawberry, I'd say."

"What's the bad news?" Mickey asks, because all the licking in the world isn't going to distract him from the potential disaster lurking in thecorners of time and space. Jack flashes him another grinm, this one both leering and amused. Mickey has a sudden sense of impending doom.

"It'll stain your skin something aweful if you don't make sure to get it all off," and before his mind can fully process the implications of this, Mickey hears himself respond.

"Really? Well, maybe you'd best help me get it all off, then."

Aaand that turned out way longer than I'd meant. o_O

Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! *flails* Strawberry tasting rain! Licking!! *loves you* That was perfect, you're good. =)

*beams, files drabblet away for possibly later expansion*

Dude, how much fanservice was there in this ep, eh? Mickey in his underwear, the Doctor spending the full two eps in a suit (WITH A BOWTIE AND EMO GLASSES BWEEE!) and Rose in that maid outfit and very short skirt--which by the way, Doctor, that "ladies first" thing is reversed when walking up stairs/climbing ladders, and a man your age would know that, so do not think for one moment I believe you weren't peeking under her skirt, and SO HOT!
