I just. I want to write an AU story where Ennis took Jack up on the offer to get a ranch together and they go up to the Twists's place and his asshole dad dies of, like, pneumonia and they live happily ever after being taken care of by Mrs Twist and Alma Jr comes up to visit with whatsisface she's marrying and stuff.

I went to see it with elance, and her first reaction after the movie was "No, no, no, they went off together and lived happily ever after lalalala." (Paraphrased, I don't remember exactly, as I was busy contemplating suicide by knitting needle. Did I mention the Pit of Despair?)
