Emoting on LJ ...

Went to see that movie with the gay cowboys. Might write a proper review with spoilers and all once I'm not, you know, broken into a million little pieces. For now, I'm just going to sit here and quietly flail for a bit.

I was just. First there was all this PRETTY and there was a moment or two of giggling (the Thanksgiving dinner where Jack tells off his father-in-law, and also Jack's rather unfortunate 'tache), but the last half hour especially I just kept thinking "No no noooo" and hoping against hope that it'd turn out okay because WAH! WAAAAAH!

(You know the scene that broke me? Jack's mum telling Ennis he could go up to Jack's old room, and the implication that she knows, and WAH!)

!!! That moment is when I lost it. Up until then, I was hanging on by a thread, I was going to be okay, and then I just caved. No happiness for me, just a lovely black pit of despair. Like the husband said, "It's always great to go to sleep feeling like everything in the world will always suck, isn't it?"

I just. I want to write an AU story where Ennis took Jack up on the offer to get a ranch together and they go up to the Twists's place and his asshole dad dies of, like, pneumonia and they live happily ever after being taken care of by Mrs Twist and Alma Jr comes up to visit with whatsisface she's marrying and stuff.

PIT of DESPAIR!

I NEED SOME HAPPY AU CLOSURE. I wanted them to walk off into the sunset so badly, realistic or not :(

I went to see it with [livejournal.com profile] elance, and her first reaction after the movie was "No, no, no, they went off together and lived happily ever after lalalala." (Paraphrased, I don't remember exactly, as I was busy contemplating suicide by knitting needle. Did I mention the Pit of Despair?)

THEY MOVED TO SAN FRANCISCO AND LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

That's what happened. *firmly nods*

*tries to block out the entire ending*

I think that movie damaged me.

It is your duty to do so now!
