Hey, Europeans, anyone interested in getting together on IRC to watch Eurovision?

Still, if you have digital you can watch it tonight on BBC3, or you can always just download it.

They didn't announce the change weeks in advance anywhere where I would see it. (Though I admit I watch less TV than most people, and in any case was on holiday in Dublin the week before.) They didn't put a warning on the end of last week's episode - all we got then was "repeated tomorrow at 7pm" and an ad for the new DW DVDs.
I don't have the kind of computer that would let me "just download it", but I do have cable, and have just confirmed that this includes BBC3.

What kind of computer do you have, then? Obviously it's one connect to the internet, and that's about all you need...

You have got to be joking, yes? Well, I suppose, yes, I could download an episode: it's a large file but I have broadband. However, it would sit on my hard disk occupying far too much of it with absolutely nothing to do. Is it really beyond your comprehension that not everyone owns the kind of computer that can play episodes? Evidently so.

Wow. I think I'll extract myself from this conversation, since I was trying to be helpful, not asking to be bitched at.

It's an MP3 of the last two minutes of the episode: don't worry, it shouldn't tax your computer since it's under 1MB.

Oh, for heaven's sake. I understand you're pissed at me because I bitched at you for assuming I can play massive MP3s on my ancient and tottery machine, but I did not call you a liar - no more than you called me one. I played back the last five minutes of the previous episode on my VCR, and heard nothing about an earlier time for the episode next week. I didn't dispute what you heard: I asserted what I heard. If you don't like being called a liar, don't lie about what I said.
