You know I found the writer I'm collaborating with on a couple of projects that we're pitching due, ultimately, to CrystalWank? cleolinda friended my LJ because of that, then I read one of rachelmanija's responses to her on her LJ, friended her because of that, and then rachelmanija saw some of my art and asked me to collaborate. Whee!

And I actually got the job that I was writing a cover letter for and agonizing about during the wank. I'm sure that WankPower(TM) had nothing to do with that, but it's still nice. :D

The sad thing about me having already known it was the 1 year anniversary is that my memory came not from the Event that was Crystalwank, but the fact that Blank Verse Blog Week (http://www.livejournal.com/users/jadelennox/169921.html) starts tomorrow, and it was happening last year at the same time as Crystalwank. So I wrote (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mpoetess/326703.html) about CrystalWank (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mpoetess/327060.html) in blank verse (http://www.livejournal.com/users/mpoetess/327551.html). It's possibly even more psychedelic in iambic pentamenter.

Man. CrystalWank was what brought me to f_w. (I'd heard about the comm before, but never bothered to find out what exactly it was.)
It was the fact that I kept seeing stuff "pastede on yay" that led me to Google, which led me to dear old fandom_wank. And I've been there ever since.

My god, has it really been a year? I can't believe it! It feels like only yesterday, I was downing unhealthy amounts of coffee and tea and not wanting to leave the screen (even to use the bathroom, it was quite unhealthy) because when I returned, there would be two more pages to read!

I mean, it got to the point we were discussing the possibilities of CrystalWank Diapers and Chamberpots. Ah, those were the days.
