The domain registration for my domains runs out this week (meaning that yes, folks, femgeeks' fourth birthday is coming up soon!), and I decided that I've had it with these fuckers adn their ineptitude (worst. customer service. ever.) and really, the only reason I stayed with them despite their bait-and-switch ToSsing of us back in 2002 was that the Brazillian host didn't have domain capabilities. I now once again have both my hosting and my domain names at one host, and it's a host that not only takes PayPal (which I can use with my debit card, and unlike Y-S, which only takes credit cards, the bitches) but which also has terrific customer service and specifically allows explicit content, for a damn good price no less!

In other news, next time I tell my grandmother to come visit me, somebody please remind me to make sure her visit doesn't coincide with a shitload of goth/metal events? *facepalm*

I was going to start running tomorrow, but I guess that's not for this week, as I once again have my periods. On the upside, theyère finally (after ten goddamn years) mostly regular now. Still, grr.

Just being nosy (call it research :P) but which host did you go with?

So far, their customer service has been great, friendly and promt, they've done their best to work with me on how to pay (as I don't have a credit card, and up until recently didn't have a debit card that works with PayPal, either), and we can get enough space and (most importantly) bandwidth for a pretty damn decent price, with no risk of being ToSsed like we did on our first host. (G'on, get me started. Or, you know, best if you don't/)

Who were they and why did they suck?

When I just got femgeeks started, we were at your-site, who basically pulled a bait-and-switch (which I always want to call a bitch-and-swait for some reason) on us regarding adult content. Since most of femgeeks is adult content, albeit written, that kinda really fucked us over. I don't know that it would've happened if we'd not attracted their attention with the Bandwidth Spike of 2001 (hosting a Lord of the Rings fanfic archive seemed resonable and non-taxing enough until the movies hit. Then suddenlt--BAM!), but still. Assholes. They also technically owed me half a year's hosting fees because we had to move after they said "No porn!", but I was too tired of their shit to ask for it at the time.

Oddly, even though I state that I allow any kind of adult contant (so long as it's UK legal), no one has taken me up yet. I have no bragging rights... yet :D
