It's a well-established phenomenon. I've seen it happen in many people's LJs.

My theory is that people don't feel comfortable commenting on the longer, usually more serious, stuff, but with short random posts like this, people feel free to be silly.

Hm, possible, but even my longer entries tend to be randomness and insannity--this was actually more serious than a lot of my longer posts.
