Lalalala ...

  1. I used to collect all sorts of stuff as a kid: porcelain, rubber bands (!), the caps off coke bottles, etc.

  2. I stopped obsessively collecting things around the time I started archiving for the RSA. I don't think this is a coincidence.

  3. The only thing I still sort of collect are Greek owl thinglets. (Little statues, and one plush one I got from my grandmother when I was born.)

  4. My next tattoo will be a Greek owl, on my lower neck.

  5. My name, Sofie, comes from the Greek word (philo)sophia, which means wisdom. Athena is the goddess of wisdom, and her symbol is the owl.

  6. According to every singing teacher I've ever had, I'm a soprano, yet these days, when I try to sing on my own, I naturally gravitate towards alto. (Is it possible for a woman's voice to deepen between age sixteen and twenty-two?)

  7. I can't not sing in the shower. At all. Even if it's just under my breath so as to not disturb total strangers. But usually I sing very loud.

  8. When cleaning, I usually sing, too. More often that not the sound track of Mistero Buffo, which I know almost by heart now.

  9. I had English at school for six years, but I never actually studied for it once.

  10. In fifth year, we had to read a book to talk about for our English oral exam. I read the original version of the Satanic Verses.

  11. I once bullshitted my way through a book report and subsequent "What did you think of the book" question round from the teacher on a book I'd never read. I got an 8/10.

  12. Before I was fifteen, I used to never ever drink coffee, except occasionally, and even then only half milk, half coffee, lots of sugar.

  13. This changed when I went to Holland for a week, for a project called the European Youth Parliament. During long "commission" meetings, I started drinking coffee, black, to stay awake, resulting in me laying awake until 4AM and needing more coffee to stay awake in the morning.

  14. That week was also when I drank beer for the first time.

  15. Up until then I'd only drank wine and champagne. I drank my first glass of alcohol at twelve.

  16. I love red wine, but it gives me migraine attacks.

  17. I hate sweet white wine, and can rarely find a dry white wine that suits my tastes.

  18. Despite it apparently being an acquired taste, I liked Guinness from the first time I drank it.

  19. I have never been hung over.

  20. I've only been semi-drunk twice in my life. The first time was when I was sixteen, and drank twelve glasses of beer in one evening, of which five or six in an hour. The second time was on gin&tonics, playing drinking games on IRC.

  21. I've been on the pill twice (three months each time) in the eight years I've had my periods.

  22. Those times three months were the only times I had anything approaching a regular cycle.

  23. I hate milk. I love dairy products, but I hate plain milk.

  24. For the last few months, I've been fighting the urge to write some sort of Fandom Revolution Manifesto.

  25. I've also been fighting the urge to make t-shirts from the manifesto, once it'd be written.

  26. Pretty much the biggest reason I'm not Manifesto-ing is that it'd be ripping off Kate.

  27. Four years ago, I was already a bitter old fandom person.

  28. I talk to electronic devices.

  29. And by talk, I mean "swear".

  30. I swear like a sailor. I blame Metallica.

  31. I've yet to meet a music genre where I didn't like even one single solitary song.

  32. I love Jesus Christ Superstar with an unrivalled passion. I know almost all the lyrics by heart. My parents left me two copies of the OST on LP, and I played one copy so often it's now completely worn out.

  33. I've not eaten meat in seven and a half years.

  34. I've never prepared meat. I don't know how. So if any of you ever want me to cook for you, it'll be veggie, fish, or nothing.

  35. I hated PE, because we girls always had to stupid stuff like aerobics, while the boys got to do cool stuff like rugby and football.

  36. In five out of six of my primary school pictures, I'm the only girl wearing trousers. The only time I wore a skirt was because I wanted to, not because my mum made me, as was the case with the other girls.

  37. I used to play football with the boys a lot in primary school. I was one of the only girls they'd allow to play with, because none of the boys wanted to be keeper, and I loved being keeper.

  38. I don't bruise easily, but when I do, it takes a long time to heal.

  39. As a kid, I once had bruises all over my shins for two or three months in a row, because I kept re-bruising them.

  40. I've read bestiality, scat, golden showers, and a whole lot of other things, without being squicked.

  41. About the only thing that squicks me in fiction is bad writing. Content-wise, I'm pretty much unsquickable.

  42. Yes, that was a challenge.

  43. I'm a big algebra geek.

  44. I hated Latin for all six years I studied it. Now I want to go back and study it again.

  45. I've never been kissed.

  46. I haven't seen my natural hair colour in almost two years.

  47. When I went to my four-year high school reunion, almost nobody recognised me.

  48. When I was eight, nine, I wanted to be an archaeologist.

  49. I started doing Latin because I wanted to become a doctor. That changed to surgeon, then neurosurgeon, over the next years.

  50. Halfway through my fifth year, I changed my mind and wanted to be a war reporter.

  51. I always feel a lot younger than I really am.

  52. Sometimes, though, I feel a lot older than I really am.

  53. I've dreaded all my birthdays after my seventeenth.

  54. My dream job would be to be tour manager for my brother's band.

  55. I love the sea. I could never live too far from it.

  56. I own a (velvet, black and purple) cape, which I often wear to work.

  57. I really like my eyes. They're nicely shaped, and pretty, and I like the fact that they're a very unique colour.

  58. I really hate my hands. Stupid manly hands with stubby fingers.

  59. According to family lore, I'm directly descendant on my mum's side from Father Damien's sister.

  60. According to that same family lore, I'm also directly descendant on my mum's side from Guido Gezelle, a very famous Belgian author. Also, a priest.

  61. One of my aunts (dad's side) is married to an ex-priest. Pattern much?

  62. I have a freaky memory for stories with strange pairings or in strange fandoms. Especially anything I've ever archived for the RSA, I'll remember.

  63. I often use this knowledge for evil, by throwing URLs at poor unsuspecting people who were just innocently wondering if there was any X-slash.

  64. I can and will find a double entendre in just about anything, as people I IM with regularly will confirm.

  65. Deep down, I'm really just a twelve-year old boy.

  66. I used to have rather big gender issues.

  67. Sometimes, I still do.

  68. I sometimes have moments of severe self-doubt, during which I wonder how I can really know I'm gay, if I'm completely inexperienced.

  69. I'm mostly left-handed, in that I do most things with my left hand, but some things, including writing, I do with my right hand.

  70. Although sometimes when I reach for a pen to write down a dream or whatever in the middle of the night, I instinctively use my left hand.

  71. When I was about sixteen, I went through a phase where I'd play Windows Tetris obsessively, to the point where the first three fingers of my right hand were completely cramped and sore every day.

  72. I have rather severe body issues, except they're reversed. The worst freak-out I've had i years was when I realised I'd lost three-four kilos in tow weeks due to a stomach infection.

  73. Stomach infections notwithstanding, I've been the same weight for the last six years.

  74. I have, however, lost volume, because I've been getting more exercise walking to and from the station(s) every day.

  75. I very, very rarely wear a skirt.

  76. I'm seriously considering getting dreadlocks, despite having the straightest, thinnest hair in the existence of mankind. I blame Lee for this.

  77. I'm also thinking of getting one of my nipples pierced. I'm not sure yet if this one is to blame on Lee. *eyes Lee*

  78. I used to be the second tallest girl in my class, but i never realised I was tallish, because the average height of the blokes in my class was something like 6'1".

  79. Some days, I really very muchly want a "You! Off my planet!" t-shirt. Other days I think I'll just get the phrase tattooed on my forehead.

  80. I have a vaguely Scottish, mostly northern accent in English.

  81. In Dutch, I sound East-Flemish. I'm not.

  82. I actually use more slang and dialect in English than in Dutch. I can't speak dialect at all in Dutch.

  83. I own five pairs of shoes: Doc Martens, TEVA sandals, my "good"' (open) shoes, running shoes, and my four-inch heels ankle-boots.

  84. I've worn boots daily for the last eight, nine years. I need support around my ankles or I keep twisting them.

  85. I keep twisting my ankles when I try to walk in my "good" shoes, which have one-inch heels. As Sae and Zed can attest, I can walk maybe a hundred metres in the spiky-heeled boots.

  86. When writing, I'm constantly torn between writing snappy dialogue and writing dreamy stream-of-consciousness lit geek fic.

  87. If I ever manage to write a story that sounds good to me, I will record an mp3 of me reading it out loud.

  88. I hate the sound of my own, normal speaking voice. I sound like I'm thirteen. I often deliberately lower it to avoid this.

  89. I never cut, but I did used to scratch myself to the point where I bled.

  90. I still do this unconsciously, in my sleep. Last time was about a year ago now. You can still see vague scars.

  91. I sucked my thumb every night until I was twelve, and for a long time after that I did it whenever I was feeling blah-ish.

  92. I still sometimes do this, but very very rarely.

  93. You can still tell which thumb I sucked more often, cause it's skinnier.

  94. As a result of the thumb-sucking, my teeth are oddly crooked. My front teeth are sort of pulled to the right-front. You can't see this when looking at them from the front, though.

  95. I am the Queen of Crossover Bunnies On Crack.

  96. I am also the Queen of AU Bunnies On Crack.

  97. I still want to go back and write a Space: Above and Beyond slash story.

  98. I had a juvenile record between my fourteen and eighteen, when it got wiped. Since then, I've been a bit paranoid about keeping my clean record.

  99. I'm really mostly sane, on my own. It's when I get together with other people that I start acting weird. Other people are my crack, man. Specific other people I'm not going to mention here.

  100. Harry/Draco is my OTP to end all OTPs. It's the embodiment of everything I adore about slash. And with that I mean the pairing and the possibilities behind it, not the actual H/D stories and fandom, because blech.

People keep telling me it is, that it's something you've to learn to drink. Then again, I like bitter drinks, so.
