My personal theory: if he could find someone equally fucked-up (as in, someone who will Never Get Over an ex, and therefore would understand that), he'd have a chance. Maybe. Because he's learned a lot about what he did wrong.

But he's Never Getting Over Oliver, and that's a problem.
