Thus far, in the grand tally of people I've managed to drag into Marcus/Oliver fandom, this is the score:

  • Converted: Leena;
  • Possibility: Shihadchick, Sae.

    I am good!

Oh, just wait. >:) Have you read the logs I sent you?

Have done, and enjoyed. (Although I think they were out of order, since they were cuddling in the first one and Oliver only found out that Marcus was in love with him in the second one, but ... er. I think I got it eventually. ;P) Just hasn't quite made click yet.

Possibly because Oliver is played by an O/P shipper. :) (dammit!)

    *g* *pets*

But, yes. I'm afraid I find myself gravitating towards the O/P side of the force, here. ^^; Just a little, and not enough to not go, "Oooh, M/O!", but.

(I swear, HP fandom is going to be the death of me. I just want to be able to OTP for once instead of constantly being caught in angsty triangles! >_>)

Good, come to the O/P side of the force. We are the light. We have really nice tasting cookies, too. Want one?

    q!

And noooo! Come to the M/O side! We've got sugar-frosted angst!

    [identity profile] sivan.livejournal.com 2002-07-11 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
... but P/O is (can be) just as angsty!

    [identity profile] siria.livejournal.com 2002-07-11 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
Or you could agree on a compromise and come to the O/T side. Hm? Do I even have to start telling you about our angst?

    [identity profile] sivan.livejournal.com 2002-07-11 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no. I forgot all about -him-. But considering that I'd rather come to the P/T side if I think about it ... heck, what is this thing, an Evil Love Quadrangle O' Doom? (eep!)

    It's not a Quadrangle, it's a Squiggle. <g>

Hehehe. It is, with guest appearances by Adrian Pucey and George Weasley.

Feh. it's a different kind of angst, though. Yeah, don't mind me, I'm notorious about not liking "best friend" pairings. Also, I still believe Percy is the EVIL WEASLEY.

    [identity profile] sivan.livejournal.com 2002-07-11 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like best friend pairings generally speaking, but I like best friend pairings with a twist. ;) A twist like, say, having been seperated for twelve years of suspecting the other of unspeakable things before being reunited dramatically. Or a twist like having stood in your siblings' shadow for all your life and when finally you'd have just a tiny chance to prove yourself, along comes the next person who shines so brightly you almost lose yourself in his shadow and you find yourself admiring and loving him too much to hate him for it, but you hate yourself for that, and for never being good enough for him and it's all so terribly unrequited. (Er, okay, so I can't quite get behind Harry/Ron despite all my attempts at reasoning. I guess I'm not quite buying my depressed!obsessed!Ron myself.)

I don't know, with Percy and Oliver ... I guess I like the idea of Percy wanting to keep up appearances but being different with Oliver and Oliver clumsily trying to peel away the layers of Percy's personality and ending up finding out things about himself in the process. And I really shouldn't be discussing this, because I haven't read the books in *ages* and never with a particular focus on Percy or Oliver and I'm relying on fandom representations of them way too much right now. *shuts up, vows to re-read the series this summer*

Mmm, depressed!obsessed!Ron. Not a bad image, to be honest. I only seem to be able to write DramaQueen!Ron, myself. Bah.

Incidentally, would you be interested in a list for discussion of and bitching about HP fandom?

    Oh!

Also, I still believe Percy is the EVIL WEASLEY.

This is not a bad thing. ;D

Could put an interesting twist on the whole Marcus/Oliver/Percy triangle, too. Hm. Interesting.
