Since a lot of people don't seem to be getting this:

1. I like reading *NSync slash. I have a weird thing for Chris, I want Hoey to be my big brother, I want to mess with Justin's mind. Let it be clear that I don't, in any way, 'look down' on *NSlash, not think that any of my other fandoms are, in any way, 'better' than *NSlash.
2. I like Helen's stories, both her FPS and her RPS. I got into *NSlash because of the stories at Puppies.
3. I, like many other RPSers, have been flamed flamed, banned from webrings and hosting domains, and a gazillion other things, simply because I write RPS. I know that a lot of *NSlashers don't get this sort of flack. Good for them. Not everyone is that lucky. That is my problem, that people who should be at least somewhat 'on our side' are distancing themselves from us. If someone who was screwing someone of the same sex through the matress claimed to be straight, because "Gay sex gives me the willies, and this doesn't give me the willies, therefore this isn't gay sex," how would you feel?
4. Maybe Helen didn't mean to distance herself from RPS with her statement in her disclaimer. Is it so strange we're interpreting it that way, though? Is it so strange we're hurt by it? Is it so strange we're trying to see you all to see things our way for a change?
5. If you don't want to get involved in this who RPS 'issue', hey, fine by me. Sometimes I wish I never had. But admitting, or even just not denying, what you're writing is not 'getting involved', it's facing up to yourself.
6. I've said this before about a zillion times, but it bear repeating: Disagreement does not mean bashing! Meaning a) Just cause I/we disagree with you, that doesn't mean we think you're a bad person; and b) If you disagree with us, there are better ways to make this clear than get sarcastic and put words into our, or rather, Ruth's mouth that she didn't say. And yes, Helen, I'm looking at you here. Ruth never said anything remotely close to "Metallica slash is better than *NSync slash."
