I can't believe I forgot to mention this!

Before Thrusday's formal dinner, this scottish bloke (late fifties, nice guy, odd sense of humour) came out, in kilt-with-dinner-jacket, and played the bagpipes, escorting us into the dinner room. And then when we got there, he played Happy Birthday for my coworker C. Who turned really really red. <g>

I guess I have an inbuilt prejudice, living so near to Scotland and stoof. I suppose they're ok, now and again - there was a bloke playing them in Carlisle today, which sounded ok. However, our next door neighbour plays them, and they can be heard from all over the town. Aevil!
