... I has a Mac?

Work was giving away random stuff, and it appears I have a Mac. It's one of the iMacs, the G3, but it's got OS10 on it according to those in the know, and it's justb for faffing abouton, so. Yaye?

You may have noticed that I'm a Mac geek.

No, really? :D

If you need pointers, stuff, or software, let me know. I have a ton of stuff that's from that era. (I had a Blue and White PowerMac G3, which is from the same era as G3 iMacs.)

Yeah, there were a few PowerMacs going as well, but I was last in line to choose, and I wouldn't have had space for one of those anyway. I am, however, missing a keyboard -- do you know how much a Mac keyboard goes for, and/or where to get one cheap?

I'm mostly gonna be faffing around with it for a bit first and get used to the way it works, but will let you know if I'm ready to start putting software on it. :)

Any USB keyboard will work with Mac OS X.

Actual Apple-branded USB keyboards are horribly expensive - I did have a spare, but my mother took it after she melted(!) her keyboard.

Let me know the specs - I'll get you the most recent Mac OS X it'll take. Unlike Windows, you want to use the newest you can - Mac OS X gets /faster/ with each release.

That's ... impressive. o_O

I've not got it home yet, so I don't know the specs just now, but I'll let you know. :)

There are always a ton of used keyboards floating around, try eBay or a Mac shop, because used is fine, they last a long time.
