In addition to Reveal, REM's newest album, Michael also came out. Which is a good thing. Except:

REM frontman Michael Stipe has admitted he has been in a gay relationship for the last three years.

Siiiiiiiigh. He 'admitted'? Yeah, cause having a same-sex affair is such a crime, you know.

MichaelMuse: "It's not really a crime, it's more of a fashion faux-pas."
MikeMuse: "I am not a crook!"
MichaelMuse: "I am not a person! I am a free number!"
PeterMuse: "I am not in any way associated with these ... characters."

Ahem. Serious face back on, I'm also bothered by the expression "gay relationship". It may just be me, though.

Yeah, I can see your point. It makes me uncomfortable too, 'cause it's like they're insinuating that a "gay" relationship isn't a real relationship.

And "admitted." BAH!

I thought it was maybe because I've become far too used to hearing 'gay' used as a swear word. Y'know, "That's so gay," and such. It's more than that, but I can't put my finger on it.
